Currently airing  on WTTW had Chicago's history about "Prohibition". Director Ken Burns and Lynn Novick explore the city's special role in the debate which is in 18th amendment in Constitution which banned the sale of alcoholic between 1920 to 1933. In the film, it shows about how social problem just as feminism, immigration, conflict between urban and rural population and even World War I is related in Alcohol. It also talk about how gangsters became the norm during the ban on alcohol sales, include Al Capone. Follow by the Novick, we can't talk human history without Alcohol.
6. Your opinion about the article (2 - 3 sentences) :
I'm highly agree with Novick. In the 17th to 18th century, this land had been full of fugitivies. At that time in America, especially Chicago, land was cheap, and Alcohol was cheap. People were all drunken. It is clear that book "Rip Van Winkle", Irving describe main character as a Idlness and Alcoholic person. Main character Rip Van Winkle drank alcohol. Then he fell asleep 20 years. Besides, as a person who like the history, I'm really interested in Al Capone. I just know him a little bit. Like a he is notorious gang. So, I want to see this program. Sadly, I don't have TV in my home. But if i had a chance to see this program, i would see this program with full of pleasant.
